Power outages suck

Well, I haven't posted since Thursday. Wanna know why? We've had no power since Thursday evening. Yup, that big "winter storm" in the papers that beat up on the Midwest, hit us square in the chin. We got a massive ice storm, leaving everything beautiful winter wonderland - for about five minutes - until you realized that ice was incredibly heavy and was bringing down trees and lines all over the area. So as of Friday there were 1/2 million people without power. Obviously, we were one of those. This morning there were still 300,000 without power - we're still one of those. The house was a balmy 38 degrees this morning. We're done staying there - it's just too damn cold and it's already killed all but 3 of my fish. The turtles and cats are okay for now. As for when we'll get it back, no telling. The tree in our alley that was covered in ice took down all the wires, a transformer and an entire utility poll so it's not looking promising. Forecast low for tonight is 11 degrees. I've written some other random musings about this whole ordeal on the laptop but until we get power back and internet back they will have to stay on said computer. I'm really tired of being cold.
